Analytical Lab at ISU Center for Crops Utilization Research
The analytical facility is designed for a better and timely quality control of the fermentation and food processes conducted at CCUR. Various fermentation related parameters such as substrates (sugars, glycerol, etc) concentration, metabolites (organic acids, alcohols etc) concentration, and offgases (O2, CO2, CO, H2 etc) composition can be determined in a timely manner. Proximate compositions (ash, proteins, lipids, carbohydrates) of the raw materials and finished products can be determined to monitor food processing performance.
