State-of-the-Art Equipment at ISU Center for Crops Utilization Research
At CCUR, we have a variety of equipment to help customers to develop whole production processes, ranging from bench scale fermentation to obtaining final products at kilogram scale, from grain grinding and dehulling to ingredient extraction and drying. A twin-screw extruder is available to process most of raw food ingredients into finished products. A variety of analytical equipment are used to monitor fermentation substrates and metabolites (sugars, glycerol, organic acids, alcohols, offgas composition), proximate compositions (ash, proteins, lipids, carbohydrates) and particle size distribution of food products.
